Samantha Facciolo is a writer, educator, and communications specialist whose reported stories and essays focus on a variety of topics, including education, immigration, the intersection of community and social justice, food and drink, travel, and more. Samantha’s work has appeared in The New York Times, Reader’s Digest, Newsweek, Marie Claire, The Wine Enthusiast, and other publications. She is a 2024 Delaware Division of the Arts Individual Artist Fellow in Literature, and her literary writing has won Novel Slices Spring 2023 Novel Excerpts Contest and American University’s Louise M. Young Award for Fiction. Her debut novel-in-progress chronicles the experiences of a young widow forging a new life in an island community during the Great Depression.

About Samantha

Samantha Facciolo is a writer, educator, and communications specialist whose reported stories and essays focus on a variety of topics, including education, immigration, the intersection of community and social justice, food and drink, travel, relationships, and more. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, Reader’s Digest, Newsweek, Marie Claire, The Wine Enthusiast, and other publications. She holds an MFA in fiction from NYU and was a 2024 Delaware Division of the Arts Individual Artist Fellow in Literature. Her literary writing has won Novel Slices Spring 2023 Novel Excerpts Contest and American University’s Lousie M. Young Award for Fiction. Her debut novel-in-progress chronicles the experiences of a young widow forging a new life in an island community during the Great Depression. 

In addition to her writing, Samantha is the Founder and CEO of Harbor Consulting Strategies, which creates fundraising and communications solutions and strategies that help mission-driven organizations achieve their goals. 

Samantha has demonstrated success connecting people and causes and leveraging the power of the collective in support of social good. She specializes in partnering with small- to mid-sized nonprofits driving impact in local communities and has particular skill in synthesizing the perspectives of multiple stakeholders to reach actionable solutions while building relationships that inspire philanthropic investment. She has worked in a variety of industries, including those dedicated to education, women’s rights, cancer research and awareness, people with disabilities, social justice, bridge building, underserved populations, Spanish-speaking and immigrant communities, historic preservation, and arts organizations. She works in the areas of fundraising and communications strategies, grant writing, campaign and project management, and storytelling for impact.
